Gambling Probabilities Lines for World Cup 2010 in South Africa

16 Jun

Everybody appreciates which teams are the faves to win the World Cup in 2010 betting competition. Five-time World Cup gambling champion Brazil at 5/1 is a major fave in the soccer probabilities, as is Spain at 4/1. The standard list of suspects is also near the top of the sports betting probabilities with Italy, England and Argentina all among the 2010 soccer betting faves.

But the set of teams that gets pretty little interest from the online sports betting community and maybe deservedly so is the set of teams in this year’s World Cup betting competition with the longest odds of taking the competition.

Every year there’s that minor number of teams that have a snowball’s chance in hell of winning even an individual match, let alone the whole soccer gambling competition. Several sports betting enthusiasts wonder why they’re even highlighted in the World Cup probabilities at all, since many of these teams are so far out of their league.

The 2010 World Cup betting is no exception to this rule and in fact there’s maybe a larger set of ‘no contenders’ this season than in recent years.

The team leading this list of soccer probabilities afterthoughts is North Korea. Not a lot is known about the North Korean soccer betting team, so there’s not a great deal to say about them. None of the participants play in a foreign league and the team competes only a few soccer betting tourneys a year. But this team will without a doubt give max effort – if the participants do not all defect – and this team may actually be a bit of a wild card in the World Cup betting. But it’s not a fave at 2000/1 soccer probabilities. This is actually the first time that North Korea has actually qualified for the World Cup since 1966. North Korea hardly stood an opportunity when they played their first competition versus Brazil on Tuesday, which they lost 1-2. Honestly, expecting a win was like demanding a housecat to have an opportunity at defeating a tiger. On the other hand, North Korea was able to pull off among the greatest upsets in World Cup history in their 1966 competition. They were able to advance to the quarterfinals after defeating Italy.

New Zealand comes in with similar 2000/1 probabilities, and these long soccer betting probabilities are well earned. The team came from the easiest qualifying region and has no outstanding participants. Their first competition happened on Tuesday vs Slovakia in Group F. They managed to pull off a 1-1 draw in that competition at the last minute. Alongside North Korea, New Zealand is deemed among the 2 weakest teams in all of the World Cup. Honduras is has the third worst soccer betting probabilities at a more modest 750/1, but it will be a miracle if this team wins even one match. The last time they appeared at the World Cup was 1982. Algeria, another team that was not predicted to win a single competition, joins the bottom five in the sports betting odds. The Slovenia team beat them 1- in their first and only match on Sunday.

World Cup Gambling Prefers France vs Uruguay

09 Jun

France is favored in World Cup betting in their starting game on Friday versus Uruguay.

Uruguay is at 300 in World Cup odds on the three-way soccer line, France is the preference at -110, and the Draw is at 220. The total for the game is 2 under. South Africa starts off the 2010 World Cup by hosting Mexico, sharing the spotlight with the France-Uruguay game.

This starting game versus Uruguay will be an significant one for both the French and Uruguay squads, particularly for France who is listed by World Cup betting odds as the preference to win Group A. France hasn’t performed well recently, although they are the high profile squad. Their previous friendly was an unimpressive 1- shutout loss to China several days ago. France wasn’t much better in a friendly versus Tunisia as they performed to a 1-1 draw. Scoring only one goal in two friendlies versus China and Tunisia is not the way to be going into a World Cup.

France just scarcely qualified for the World Cup at all as they needed a missed call in their game versus Ireland just to make it. They did secure the World Cup in 1998 but that was on their home soil while the previous year they lost in the title game to Italy in a penalty shootout. This year’s France squad does have some huge names and some talent nonetheless they are surely not at the level of previous year’s team. Head coach Raymond Domenech who will leave after the tournament, making this World Cup the previous one for him. The health of defender William Gallas, who has a calf injury, might be the essential for France in this starting game versus Uruguay. He may not be ready for the opener since he has not performed since March.

Uruguay is probably not gaining the respect in this game that they ought to have in World Cup betting. They are rated in the Top 20 on the planet and they’re one of just 5 teams that have won more than one World Cups. Uruguay won when they had to versus Costa Rica, though it was a struggle to qualify. Uruguay can land goals since they have Diego Forlan, Luis Suarez and Sebastian Abreu. The French squad is pretty overrated in this starting match from Group A in World Cup odds, and Uruguay certainly is able to defeat them.

The FIFA World Cup will commence on June 11th and is anticipated to play through July 11th. This is the first time in history that the World Cup has been hosted by an African country. Morocco and Egypt were defeated by South Africa for the privilege. The FIFA World Cup features 32 teams from different nations competing versus each other for the tournament in football and is held once every four years. Brazil, which holds a record 5 titles and is the only squad to have competed in every tournament, has in the past dominated this event. Italy is the current champion. They have won the title four times total. Brazil will be hosting the next World Cup in 2014.

World Cup in 2010 Gambling Probabilities Preview

09 Jun

On Friday, June 11th the host country of the world cup in 2010 South Africa takes on Mexico in the start of World Cup odds this year. A total of 32 teams will be fighting for the World Cup title with Spain and Brazil the two faves. Only seven teams have ever won the title from the total 18 World Cups that have been played in history. Four years ago it was Italy winning the World Cup as they defeated France in a penalty shootout.

Check out current World Cup odds at SBG Global.

There are really only 5 teams that are major contenders to win this year’s World Cup. Spain is full of talent and they’ve got an easy group with Switzerland, Honduras and Chile. The Spanish squad has the talent to win their first World Cup wagering with players like Fernando Torres, David Villa, Xaba and Cesc Fabregas. The only problem for Spain is that they could encounter a challenging round of 16 match against the second place squad from Group G which should be Brazil or Portugal. Brazil is the probable victor of Group G yet if they somehow slip and finish second, wouldn’t it be a substantial surprise to have the two faves, Brazil and Spain competing in the round of 16? Brazil is a true risk to win the World Cup this year, considering they have won the World Cup a total of 5 times. They’ll play in a challenging group with Portugal and Ivory Coast but they should not have any trouble advancing to the round of 16 particularly because Ivory Coast probably has no possibility since leading scorer Didier Drogba is out with an injury.

England is the 3rd choice in the wagering odds following Spain and Brazil. They are well coached with Fabio Capello and they have Wayne Rooney. Whether their goaltender is good enough is the question. Argentina has the best player on the planet in Lionel Messi, which brings them into the mix. The squad is coached by Diego Maradona and that is likely more of a bad thing than a good thing. The Netherlands is the other competitor to earn the World Cup. They could have their best squad since 1988.

Italy is the defending champion and has won the World Cup odds 4 times however they look to be far less strong than they were 4 years ago and have no true scoring threats. Germany has won the title three times however they are less of risk this year without captain Michael Ballack who is hurt.

France, Portgual and the United States might be exciting choices if you’re looking for darkhorse candidates. France has still got Thierry Henry, Nikolas Anelka, William Gallas and Franck Ribery while Portgual has Cristiano Ronaldo. The USA has Tim Howard and Landon Donovan so they can’t completely be discounted.

U.S. Team Prepared to Affect 2010 world cup Probabilities

09 Jun

The United States 23-man squad for the World Cup has been named and the U.S. is expected to make some noise in 2010 world cup odds.

How the U.S. does in World Cup betting may be determined by their beginning competition against England.

U.S. coach Bob Bradley names his 23-man roster on Wednesday and there are some familiar names on it. There are several new players including Edson Buddle and Herculez Gomez, and Landon Donovan and DaMarcU.S. Beasley are on the squad again. The squad had 7 people cut from it. The players were defenders Chad Marshall and Heath Pearce; midfielders Robbie Rogers, Alejandro Bedoya, and Sacha Kljestan; and forwards Eddie Johnson and Brian Ching.

This would be the 3rd World Cup for Donovan, Beasley, and defender Steve Cherundolo. Most of the people on the U.S. roster are from Europe. Actually, 17 of the 23 people have been competing in Europe. There are 4 people from the MLS and two from Mexican teams. Eight of the players have been competing in England, 3 in Germany, two in Scotland, and one in Italy, France, Norway and Denmark.

The United States is a lengthy shot to win the World Cup as they are listed at 52-1. England is the first choice to win Group C, with the U.S. in 2nd. The U.S. is 4-1 to win Group C while England is the odds-on favorite at -325. Slovenia and Algeria are not expected to be much of a danger in that group. On Saturday, June 12th, the U.S. will open up World Cup play against England. The U.S. is 470 to win the competition, England is a -210 favorite and the Draw is 290.

The United States hosted the World Cup in 1994. It has not yet, however, won the championship.

Here is a glance at the U.S. squad.

Goalkeepers: Tim Howard (Everton), Brad Guzan (Aston Villa), MarcU.S. Hahnemann (Wolverhampton).

Defenders: Carlos Bocanegra (Rennes), Jonathan Bornstein (Chivas U.S.A), Steve Cherundolo (Hannover), Jay DeMerit (Watford), Clarence Goodson (IK Start), Oguchi Onyewu (AC Milan), Jonathan Spector (West Ham)

The FIFA World Cup for 2010 will begin on June 11th and is expected to run through July 11th. This is the first time ever that the World Cup has been hosted by an African nation. South Africa beat out Morocco and Egypt for the honor. The FIFA World Cup is held once every four years and features 32 teams from different nations competing against each other for the championship in football. This event has historically been dominated by Brazil, which holds a record five titles and is the only team to have played in every tournament. The current champion is Italy, which has won the title four times total. The next World Cup will be held in 2014 in Brazil.
