Down to Last 16 Teams in Sportsbook Probabilities

The College World Series is down to the final 16 teams with odds available on the super regionals at the sportsbook.

At home this season, Florida was 31-3.

Coastal Carolina is going to be looking to make their 1st trip to the College World Series. They’ll host South Carolina at the regional. This will likely be an appealing competition to see if Coastal Carolina can take a step up in class. Coastal Carolina might be given problems by South Carolina’s balanced offense.

Virginia hosts Oklahoma and they are favored to move forward since they went 33-5 this season at home. They’ve got Danny Hultzen who is 10-1 this season and they’ve a very balanced starting lineup. Oklahoma hit 93 home runs this season. They win with power. Virginia’s Davenport Field isn’t a home run hitting park, which is a problem for the Sooners. It should be an appealing series when UCLA hosts Cal State Fullerton. Fullerton was 18-6 on the road this year but UCLA has a dominant pitching staff that should be the difference.

Florida State hosts Vanderbilt in what should be the best competition in the super regionals. Florida State just hardly defeated Vandy for a number 1 seed.

Clemson and Alabama are number 2 seeds and one of these will be progressing with Clemson having the home field edge. Look for a number of runs to be obtained, since these two teams can hit but don’t have strong pitching staffs.

The College World Series is going to be hosted from June 19th to the 29th with a game on the 30th if necessary. It’s going to start off in Rosenblatt Stadium in Omaha, Nebraska, which has hosted the College World Series since 1950. But this will be the a year ago for this stadium. It’s the 64th College World Series overall, and the 61st to be held in Rosenblatt Stadium.

Boston still needs Ellsbury in their lineup as he does plenty of of the same things that Granderson does for the Yankees, though Boston has picked it up lately offensively.

Ellsbury has been out practically totally since April 11, when he crashed into Red Sox 3rd baseman Adrian Beltre and wound up with hairline fractures to four of his ribs. On May 22 he came back, but on May 28 a doctor determined that his ribs needed more time to heal, so he was put back on leave.
